Simmons Prepared Foods Recalls More Than 2 Million Pounds of Chicken for Fear of Metal Contamination

More than 2 million pounds of chicken has been recalled by Simmons Prepared Foods after it found out that it may have been contaminated with metal. The recall which was announced by the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture was classified as “Class 1”. According to a statement, a “Class 1” suggests that there is a "reasonable probability" that consumption of the contaminated products has adverse health consequences or may lead to death.” Reports say that the food company has already contacted its customers. The FSIS said that poultry products suspected to be contaminated were produced from Oct. 21 through Nov. 4.
